Growing Schools Conference 09The Growing Schools Programme is delighted to announce that it will be holding its second national conference “Get Your Hands Dirty” at the Royal Botanic Gardens Kew, on the 23rd March 2009.
The conference aims to support all teachers from Early Years through to Secondary who are interested in expanding and improving learning outside the classroom in their schools.

We are pleased to confirm guest speakers Diarmuid Gavin, celebrity gardener and face of Morrisons Let's Grow and Angus Maciver, Group Marketing and Communications Director of Morrisons will be able to address the conference.

The day will also consist of a market place made up from many of our sector partners as well as a series of workshops which will be run throughout the day. Choices will include Den Building, Art Gene, The Great Plant Hunt and Thinking Walks. The workshops will be facilitated by the education departments of many organisations such as the Royal Horticultural Society, The Botanic Gardens Education Network, Federation of City Farms and Community Gardens and the Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew.

The conference will open at 9.00 am and finish at 4.30pm with refreshments and a lunch voucher for the restaurant will be provided. The cost is £75.00 and places are limited to 200. We expect demand for places to be high, so an early booking is highly recommended .
