Renewable World gets bigger and better

The Renewable World website, which introduces students to the exciting world of renewable materials, has now been expanded to include interactive whiteboard games and career videos.

The site at www.renewableworld.org.uk already contains a richly detailed ‘Top Trumps’ style game exploring the use of renewable materials in the past, present and future. There is also a range of teaching resources, a glossary and links to further information. The new whiteboard games introduce the concept of renewables in the context of clothing, fuels and building materials where some of the most innovative developments have occurred. The videos feature a research student, a biomass farmer and a materials technologist explaining their work with renewables and how it is contributing to a more sustainable future.

The Renewable World is part of the Growing Schools programme and aimed primarily at KS3 students. It now provides a comprehensive and engaging resource, based on sound science, to encourage exploration and understanding of this very timely topic.
