In 1997, a survey was conducted by the National Farming Union and the findings indicated an alarming lack of knowledge amongst 8-11 year olds about food and farming.
The project, held at Gloucester University, aimed to help teachers become more confident in using farm and growing resources to deliver learning across national curriculum subjects.
