The John Innes Centre researches plants and microbes at the molecular and genetic level, and their relationship with the environment. Their focus with schools is to encourage students to study science and to appreciate the importance of science in everyday life. Resources include a mobile exhibition unit, web resources at www.plantsandus.org.uk and www.allaboutwheat.info, and staff who can go into schools to talk about different aspects of plant and microbial science (through the local Teacher Scientist Network www.tsn.org.uk).
